My 1st Trip on a plane.

I got married back in 2004 and so my new husband and I for our honeymoon went to Benidorm and for me it was my 1st time on a plane let alone to a hot country.  Mind you it is the only time I have left the UK so I am glad that I have scrapbooked it.  My dream has always been to swim with dolphins so I when I got the opprtunity to have my picture taken touching one then I jumped at the chance.  Fellow bloggers, I also need your help.  I can't decide between this page and the one of my BFF and photo shoot to submit for my 3rd scrapbook page so any help would be greatly appreciated.

To make this page, I used paper and words from the Studio K Meadow scrapbook kit. I then scrapbooked the officila photo from Mundomar Wildlife Park in Spain of me touching Aqua and also my plane ticket and suitcase tag.  Sad I know but there are some lovely memories and again they will be remembered better because I scrapbooked them.  Again I hope you like the page. This is the last blog of the night fro me.

My BFF and our photo shoot!!!

My best friend Sian and I went on a photo shoot in London and these were some of the photos that we had taken.  To get more onto the page, I added a little photobook and then wrote into that.  I hope you like us being all glammed up.

This was the page that I did to have a reminder that sometimes I can look ok.  Sian and I have been through thick and thin but we will always be there for each other and we have the best times out and I have managed to have some memories of them.  This is another page that I want to submit for my Certificate in Papercraft so again. Please can you leave me some comments.  To make the page I used Perfect Pages Friendship Kit. I then added the voucher that we had to use to get into the photo shoot and then I used the little mini album book to add extra photos and to journal in.  Hope you like the page.

Dan's Page

I did this page in memory of one of my best friends, who died at the age of 25 having lost his battle with Cystic Fibrosis. It was because of him and his mum and dad that I became hooked on scrapbooking.  He left his friends some money, and it was thanks to this that I bought my 1st ever scrapbook.  He was from a family who are in the Salvation Army and the youngest of 4 children.  We used to play in the park opposite where mum and dad live and it is also where my BFF lived but that is another story.  Sorry to bore you.  I would love to submit this for my Certificate in Papercraft and would love any comments.  It was the 1st page I ever did and will be treasured forever.

I decorated a 12x12 white scrapbook page on each side with paper from Kalulu.com. The paper was from the studio K Meadow Kit and the words came with the kit too.   They are the most appropriate words that make me think of Dan. On the pages I have put some of the last pictures that were taken before he became to ill to go out. There are 2 magazine articles that were written about him and they were so well written that wanted to have them always . I have also added his order of service and the last christmas card that I had from him and his family.  The red card and the letter at the bottom of the page were the card and letter that I had from Dan's family.  It is so nice that I still see his family and have quite a lot of contact with them especially as Dan was a big part of my life and it is thanks to him that I ever started to scrapbook and the love affair has continued and grown to all things papercraft.  I hope you like it and thank you for any comments that leave.

My 1st Double Twisted Easel Card!!

The last couple of days I have been working on a 60th Birthday card that my sister and brother in law asked me to make for their mum.  I wasn't really sure on what I was doing but it turned out quite well.

I took a 12x12 white piece of cardstock and folded it in half and folded it in half again. I then cut down the top half to the middle and then folded the 2 quarters in half again at an angle to make the back of the card.  I used a Iris stamp that I got given from my mum and coloured it in using Promarkers.  For the mum I used Broadway Melody from Sizzix and the happy 60th Birthday I used the Joanne Sheen Numbers and sentiments and then used a Creative Memories glue pen and then put glitter over them.  The paper was some that I had in my collection and I am really sorry that I can't remember where it was from.  I then put the tag on the bottom so that they had somewhere to write their words and things.  I hope you like it.

Card and a gift!!!!!

A few months ago in Papercraft Essentials, I came across this card with 4 drawers underneath and so I thought that I would really like to have a go at that.  I started to follow the instructions and it was a bit easier than I thought that it would be.  So here it is, some of my friends are going to be 30 this year so I decided to add some tealight candles into the drawer and I will get a little candle holder to go with it.  As far as I can see it is the perfect present. I hope you like her.

I used blue plain card from the Paper Mill Shop as the solid background and the spotted blue paper is from the Me to You paperstack.  I stamped music notes on to white cardstock and put that on the right hand side stamped using tumbled glass from the Ranger Ink distressed range.

The stamp is from Lili of the Valley and is called never to old for cupcake.  I really really like her and coloured her in using Promarkers.  The reason I did this stamp and the music was so that I could enter her into a challenge for music and dance. I then distressed around the edges of the stamped image in tumbled glass.

The flowers were from Creative Memories Reflection Series and I love the softness of the colours.  I made up a little bouquet with a few of them as over at Saturday Sketches this was the sketch that I used.

I decorated the bottom of the easel card with the same card and then I added a paper tag again from Creative Memories Reflection Series so that I can write to the recipient who she is for.

This was the sketch that I used but I flipped it around.

The challenges that I have entered this card into is

Sketch Saturday - The above sketch.
Cute Card Thursday - Music and Dance.

Hope to see you again later.

Lavender and Lace

This card I have made for my daughter to give to her little sister for her 1st birthday.  I thought that I would tie in making this card with the challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies.

The backing paper is from Forever Friends With Love. I didn't have any actual lace and so I made some up using a Martha Stewart punch scalloped edge all around the page.  The image is Lili of the Valley Millie with balloons and I coloured her in using Promarkers.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley also and the sister is from papermania.  The dark flower is from Creative Memories, the lighter purple is created using the blossom punch from Creative Memories, and the middle flower is from a set of 4 nature punches from Creative Memories.  The purple paper that the image is matted on is from the paper mill shop.

Meerkat Simples!!!

The challenge over at Delightful Sketches this week is Vintage/Distressed and I had the perfect card to do for a friend who is into Meerkats. I am loving doing distressing at the moment so anything I can do using the process is fabulous.

I distressed a sqaure card using frayed burlap and Vintage Photo from the Tim Holtz Ranger distressed ink. I then used the meerkat stamps from Joanna Sheen at Crafters Companion.  I stamped this using Old paper also from the Tim Holtz ranger collection and then distressed this using antique linen to give it the sandy look.  I then matted this onto brown cardstock from the Old Mill Paper Shop and stamped the sentiment in Rustic Hinge Tim Holtz distressed ink.   I am entering this into the

 Delightful Sketches: Challenge Vintage/Distressed

Last night I had a lovely stampin up five cards for £5 evening and so I will put up the cards we made later. It was a fantastic evening held by Pat Caulder and Kate Longford, so a massive thank you to them.  Off to do some more cards for some other challenges.

Chloe's Birthday Card

This is the card I have made for our daughters 1st birthday and I really hope you like it.  I have decided that each year for both of our daughters a card with a photo to see how they grow each year.

The paper I have used for the card is My Mind's Eye Love me and it is double sided. I used the bunting side is the backing and the heart and Chloe is done with the reverse side of that.  The lettering I used was Sizzix Broadway Melody and the hearts I cut out using Creative Memories Cutting System.  The happy birthday was using Lili of the Valley sentiments (of course).
 I hope you like it

My Favourite LOTV stamp

This is the card I have made for my sister and her husband for my little girls 1st birthday at the end of the month.  I have also incorporated it into a couple of challenges so it was really a card killing 2 birds with 1 stone kind of thing.  This is my favourite Lili of the Valley stamp but I haven't really done very much with her, but it does remind me of Chloe who is just learning to walk so it was the perfect card.

To make the card, I used taffy pink cardstock from Creative Memories and the pink script backing paper was from some paper that I had in my collection. The silver paper was what I bought from WHSmith.  The circles I cut out by using the Creative Memories Cutting system which I just love using.  The stamp is from Lili of the Valley (LOTV) as is the sentiment.  Niece came from papermania words collection.  I coloured her in using Promarkers.

Challenges I am entering this card in is

Thank You!!!!

These were the thank you cards that I have done for this year's Christmas presents.  The stamp is from Paperchase and I had it in my stocking.  I absolutely love it and the doodling I did with the Creative Memories doodling template.   A very simple card.

I am having trouble getting pictures of my phone of the cards I made today but I will keep trying till later.

Chloe's 1st Christmas Scrapbook page

I normally put cards on here but I am currently working towards my Certificate in Papercraft and I have to do 3 Scrapbook pages. This is the first of them and I would really appreciate your comments on these and I would love both positive and constructive criticism.

To do these pages I used Creative Memories cardstock, for the background is Taffy Pink. I used this colour as I wanted to try and tie it in with Chloe's christmas bib. I then used the black cardstock to mat the pictures on so that they had a layer around the photos.  The pictures were so funny that I just wanted to make them look like a film clip to capture the moment.  I used the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Strip and then inside the little squares I put lots of little photos of the day to create the pages and did this as they come in tiny little negative when you order from photobox.  On the right hand side I did a film strip down the right hand side and again filled these with little photos of our Christmas day.  I made the clapper board with black cardstock and then put white cardstock on the inside so that I was able to do a bit of Journalling.  I then used the funniest picture of the day which was Chloe pushing the food away and layered it onto black cardstock and punched holes down the two sides to create a single film strip.  I then used a Creative Memories fine black pen to Journal onto the pages about the experience of her 1st Christmas dinner.  I really hope you like it. See you again later

Anyone for Cards?!!!!!!

This was a collection of cards that I have made using playing cards and poker chips for the men in our lives. It was inspired by my husband who loves playing poker and so I thought there must be some guys who would like a card card. Here they are; All the cards used Creative Memories green cardstock for the background and silver peel offs for Happy Birthday.

This card I thought could be used for a general card or a special 21st birthday card for a guy.

Game Card

Inside of the card I put a little pocket so that the nought and crosses can be put in there so that they are able to go somewhere when not in use.

Whilst trying to come up with another card idea, I threw a few ideas at my husband and he came up with the idea of noughts and crosses that could then be played as well as being a fun card.  This was again for my brother in law but I am so pleased that it worked and he loved it.

I used black cardstock for the background and then I put pencil lines at regular intervals both ways to create a 9 square backing for a card. The thick black lines, I coloured in black promarker and then attached it with 3d sticky foam pads to the black cardstock.  I then attached a silver happy birthday peel off along the left hand side.

The X's and O's I used Sizzix Big Top Alphabet font and did these using We R Memory Keepers Travel Light paper that came free with the Simply Cards and Papercraft.

The inside of the card I put a rectangular piece of black cardstock and then used a rectangular strip of the same paper and made it into a little pocket for the pieces to go into after use.

I really hope that you like it and I will be on again tomorrow.

Pete's Birthday

These are the cards that I made for my brother in laws birthday.

This card I made for my sister for her husband. He loves tigger, so she asked me to make something along those lines.  I used cardstock from Creative Memories and the font was from Sizzix Broadway Melody.  The tigger was from a card that I bought at Clintons but didn't like the card and so I cut tigger out and then attached him to the card with a strip of acetate so that he bounces on the page. I am really pleased with how he turned out.

This card I made using the doodles template from Creative Memories around the edge to create a border. I then used paper from We R Memory Keepers Travel Light that came free with Simply Cards and Papercraft. The font was Sizzix Broadway Melody and then the sentiment was from Lili of the Valley.

I also received som other good news today and I got another pass credit for my Certificate in Papercraft for Unit 1 which was upgraded from a pass.  The last piece that I submitted was the dominoes card and that got it for me. All I need to do now is the scrapbook pages.

Will be back again later with another card.

New Beginnings

I have made this card for some challenges but I also have quite a few friends who are expecting babies, so it was a good excuse to get on with making them. Here she is,

You guessed it, the stamp is from Lili of the Valley new collection and also the newsest stamps that I have got and is called Heaven Sent. I coloured the image in using Promarkers and went for Autumn colours for the leaf. The backing paper is from the Nana's Nursery Baby Girl collection and the sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley. I cut the heart from a different piece from the collection and to cut this out I used the Creative Memories Cutting System to get a neat shape.  The ribbon was from a little wool shop in Broadstairs when we went on holiday last year.  I hope you like her. I am entering her in the following challenges.

Flowers Galore

I have once again raided my stash of free gifts from magazines and these are another 2 cards they I have made using embellishments from Lets Make Cards Spring Edition a few years ago. They are know coming into use so I am very pleased about that as I really don't like to waste anything in the craft room.

The cardstock is from Creative Memories, Pink Lemonade and Cloud which I have used for the backing and the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley round sentiments which I have stamped in Ranger Distressed Ink Spun Sugar as I thought the black would be to harsh.  Right, had know better go and get some inspiration for a couple of cards for my brother in law as his birthday is on Wednesday. Have got my mum's cards all sorted for Jan birthdays so now need to get me up to date and my sister.  Will be putting a picture of the card I did my sister for her husband after his big day.

See you tomorrow. Have fun crafting and looking

More Freebies

I have never used so many freebies before but I will so be using them more and more.

This card was made using the Edwardian County Lady Diary paper free with the Cardmaking and papercraft magazine.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and I stamped it in tumbled glass Ranger Distress Ink.  The embossed side is the cuttlebug Flutterby folder that I just love.

This card was made using embellishments that came with a spring addition of Lets Make Cards that I got quite a few years ago.  The card is from some that I got from the Paper Mill Shop.  I have never used any of it before but this occasion really suited this card.  I love the spring feel to it but I do realise it is the middle of winter, gives me a nice feeling though. Just hope my Aunty likes it too.  This is my last blog today and I won't be on tomorrow, so hopefully see you again with some more cards on Monday.

Little Dot's Birthday

This is my most detailed card to date but I love how it looks.  It is also the 1st card that I have done where I have done the inside aswell.  This card I have made for my mum and dad to give to my little girl for her 1st birthday at the end of the month.  When I saw her, I just had to have her as my mum calls the girls Little Dot to do with our surname,  so this was the only card that really suited them for her.Anyway, here she is

The red spotty paper that I used for the main backing was from My Minds Eye, the spots collection. The red paper is from the Paper Mill Shop  and I thought that it tied in really well with the red spotty paper and also added contrast to it.  As I said before, the image is from the Lili of the Valley and I have coloured her in using promarkers mainly in the red shades to tie it in with the rest of the card.  I placed a strip of the red card along the bottom of the card to create a ribbon effect and also I wanted to add the Granddaughter sentiment to the card and this was the best place to attach it.  I then stamped the 1 from the crafters companion numbers collection in the matching red and stamped today onto that to show up when placed on the card.

For the inside of the card, I used the same red spotty background. I then cut out 2 circles, one in red and the other in white so that they would have somewhere to write on the inside of the card and also to stamp the Lili of the Valley verse on the inside to.  I cut the circles out using the Creative Memories Cutting System and they give a perfect circle everytime. I love them.  Along the middle of the inside, I also did a ribbon effect with the card just to break it up a little bit.  Hope you like her as much as I do as I had so much fun making her.

Sympathy Card

Here I am again, but a bit later than I thought it would be.  I have a few cards to put on today but I will start with the sympathy card that I did. It is very similar to the distressed post that I put on a few days ago but with a few differences.

I distressed the square card with Vintage photo Ranger Distressing Ink and then put a small strip of brown cardstock along the bottom of the card from the Paper Mill Shop.  I then embossed the dandelion onto plain white card and distressed that with Frayed Burlap .  I then attached that to the same brown cardstock.  The verse was stamped using Antique Linen Distress Ink and attached this to brown cardstock.  I am so loving the whole distress look at the moment.  I think I love it almost as much as my Lili of the Valley stamps, but then maybe not as much.

Bea's Birthday

As promised, here I am again. I don't think I have made so many cards in so many days, but I am pleased as it means I get to do what I love. This is the card that I have made for my daughter's friend who is going to be 6. It is her 1st proper party, as she is only 3 and a half and so she is very excited. Anyway, here is the card.

It is not the best  picture I am afraid but it is the best I can get. The stamped image is from Lili of the Valley and is called Summer Days. I coloured her in using Promarkers and then attached it to some pink lemonade cardstock from Creative Memories.  The flowers are from Creative Memories Simply Beautiful collection and the paper was from some scrap that I had in my collection from ages ago and can't remember where it was from.

Well, I am going to be back probably tomorrow with another sympathy card and maybe some other bits.

Freebies

I was asked to make some birthday cards and I wasn't sure how well my favourite Lili of theValley collection would go down for the ladies that I was making for them.  I had this gorgeous collection called the Edwardian Country Lady Diary paper free with the cardmaking and papercraft magazine and so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to put the papers to use.

I covered a square card with a sheet of the paper and then cut a smaller square piece of card and embossed half of it with the cuttlebug flutterby folder and used a small strip of the backing paper to separate the embossed from the side that wasn't. I then used the embellishments that came from the magazine that matched the paper to add something extra to the card.

Hope you like and the next thing will be a card using (you guessed it ) Lili of the Valley for a little girls birthday as my daughter is going to a 6th Birthday party tomorrow.

See you later
