Part 2 of South Africa Treats

I had a lovely email from my beautiful younger sister to say that she wanted some more named cards, 8 to be exact and 12 thank you cards for the speakers that are coming in too speak to them. So here they are, hope you like the treats, I certainly hope her team will like them come there birthdays.
All the writing that is on the cards is Sizzix Broadway Melody used through the Cuttlebug.

The Thank you cards above were all made using the doodling template from Creative Memories and drew the shapes using the Creative Memories fine black tip pen and then coloured in the outlines with a black felt tip pen.  The writing was done using Sizzix Broadway Melody through the Cuttlebug. The butterfly was punched using the Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly punch and the stars were done using The Creative Memories star Punch 3/4 amd 1inch shapes.

This thank you card was done again with the doodling template along the edge and a thank you stamp that was my mum's. The 4 sqaure stamp is from The Craft Barn and created by Craftworks. I then colored the background sing Sky Blue Promarker.

This card was for Becky who my sister told me was slightly older an dwas cool and funky. So I decided to use the denim paper from DCVW funky vintage collection.  I also used the sewing mannequin from Tim Holtz.

The next was for Pete who is going to be 50, as you can tell from the card.  I stamped the 5 and the 0 with the Craft companions numbers and then covered it with sheets from the Complete Boy collection by My Minds Eye.

This card was made for someone who is not into sport and so I went along the music lines. This was stamped using the papermania pastimes and the paper is from My Mind's Eye complete boy collection.  I coloured the image in using Promarkers.

This one was made for a girly girl and what girl is not into shoes and pink.  I used the paper for the backing from Born to Shop Bubbles collection. The iimage is from Lili of the Valley and is Emma's New Shoes and the sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley.  She is coloured in using Promarkers.

This card uses backing paper from DCVW funky vintage and the stamped image is from LadybugInkCrafts and is Nikki's Ride. She is coloured in using Promarkers.  The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley.

The above 2 cards used the walking image from Papermania Pastimes and coloured in using Promarkers.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye complete boy collection and the edging is done using the Martha Stewart Scalloped edge punch.

This card was made using the football backing paper from the Forever Friends For Him collection. I used the football image from the Papermania Pastimes stamps and coloured in using Promarkers.

Next will be the  cards I did for my dads birthday

So Pleased

I can't believe it, I passed my Unit 1 for the Certificate in Papercraft first time. I was so excited and the feedback that I received was really positive and the suggestions that were put to me will definately be put into practice as they were really really helpful. Things that are so easily achieved but will have a massive impact on the future cards that I will make. Thank you Jackie for that.  Well, I have a few orders in the pipeline, but Unit 3 & 4 are calling as well and now I can't wait to do them, Hopefully, I will be able to keep up the good work.  I will be putting some pictures up soon of some of the other cards that I did for my sister in South Africa and sent there. Again, once i can get them off my phone.

As Promised!

Here you go as promised, unfortuately I am not able to use my craft room this weekend so thought that I would have some time updating my blog and putting on some of the designs I have been busy doing over the summer. Back in June, I told you that both my sisters and my now brother-in-law were graduating so these were the cards that I did for them. My sister and her now husband were also getting married in July and they asked me to design the wedding invitations and also the order of services so here are the photos which I thankfully managed to get from my camera.

This card was made with my sister in my mind as at school she was a bit of a ragamuffin but we are so proud of her. I did this for my mum and dad for her hence it has daughter on it. The school girl was from Lili of the Valley and the graduate is from Magnolia Graduate Tilda. I had a lot of fun making this I made a similar one for my other sister who also graduated and needed cards as well.

The best thing that I love about making cards is how personal they really can be made. As I had the honour of making the order of services, I thought I would add a personal touch to their special day by personalising their order of services.  To make the order of services, I used pearlescent card from AnneMarieDesigns.co.uk that was prefolded and came with inserts and envelopes. The writing was done using Sizzix Broadway Melody Font and attached using 3D sticky foam pads.  The stamp was from The Wild Rose Studio and the embossed heart was from the 4 set of hearts from cuttlebug. The ribbon we bought at the Stitch and Craft show at Olympia back in March.  The date stamp was from Lili of the Valley calender stamp.

Unit 1 Almost There

This was a 3D notelet set that I did as a birthday present for my mum from my 2 girls. It was my 2nd attempt at doing it but I am so pleased how it turned out.  I have submitted this as my 3D object for unit 1. I used the new range of tatty teddy to make it.

This was made for my younger sisters 21st birthday and I made it out of wrapping paper and my cuttlebug.  The numbers were done by drawing around wheelie bin numbers and the font I used was Sizzix Broadway Melody. I have submitted this as the card aspect of unit 1.

This was just one of the scrapbook pages that I did for my sisters 21st birthday scrapbook.  She is a grade 8 singer and for the London Pentecost Week in 2008 she was asked to sing for a show.  It was done at Cafe Eterno in Covent Garden and the whole show was called Shoes. It was about a woman whose life had been totally upside down, she had been on drugs, prostitution and self harming. God spoke to her at one of the lowest times in her life and she came to know Him as her Saviour. She cleaned her life up and she found love. She had been told she would never be able to have children because of things that had happened when she was younger but after getting married, they discovered that she was pregnant and was having twins.  The story was so powerful and before it was told, there was a musical aspect to it. It showed the powerful struggle between good and bad and the main song was called Shoes by Nia(a Walsh singer) if you ever get to hear it.
The page below is the whole of what I did for her but I only need to submit 1 page so the top ones are the page that I picked.

As some of you know, In June I started the Certificate in Papercraft done by the Craft Qualifications Centre.  I am so pleased to tell you that I am nearly finished with Unit 1 and here are some of the pieces of work that I a submitting. Unit 1 entails submitting a card, a 3D object, a scrapbook layout, ATC's, or another type of papercraft.

South Africa Treats

All the following cards were made for my younger sisters trip to South Africa for her fellow team mates. They are all on a mission trip with an organisation called Youth With A Mission(YWAM). All of the lettering was done using the cuttlebug machine and the font is Sissix Broadway Melody. I had such a nice time designing them all.

This card was made using the Rosie's cake stamp and the birthday sentiment from Lili of the Valley and coloured in using Promarkers. The backing paper and the lettering uses the Me to You paper range and the butterfly is punched using the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch.

This was made using the birthday sentiment from Lili of the Valley, The paper used is from the Dovecraft Purple range and for the embellishments I used the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterly Punch and the Cuttlebug borders for beside the name.

The backing paper used for this card was from My Minds Eye complete Boy collection.  The sentiments stamp was from Lili of the Valley and the car stamp is from the Kanban cars stamp range and coloured in using Promarkers.

The design on this card is fairly simple but hoping effective.  The paper used for the gerbera and the lettering is from the Dovecraft paper range, the flower is the cuttlebug gerbera die cut and the sentiment is again from Lili of the Valley.

This card was made using backing paper from the Vintage Funky Dovecraft collection, the lettering and the butterflies are cardstock from Creative Memories called cloud.  I again used the Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly punch and the sentiment is again from Lili of the Valley.

This card was great fun to make.  I used paper from the Vintage Funky Dovecraft paper collection, the large butterfly is the Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly punch.  Along the top of the paper I used the Butterfly edge punch again from Martha Stewart and the little butterflies I used were the punchouts from that.  The sentiment is again from Lili of the Valley.

I adore Lili of the Valley stamps and my collection just keeps growing.  This stamp is Milly with a flower and I used Promarkers to colour her in. Her and the sentiment are from Lili of the Valley.  The paper is from the DoCrafts bubble paper stack to do with born to shop.  I used the Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly punch and the butterfly punch along the edge.

The map backing paper used is from the Tim Holtz vintage papers, the lettering and the houses outline is paper from My Minds Eye complete Boy collection.  For the houses I used the Tim Holtz houses die cut and the sentiment was from Lili of the Valley.

This card was totally different for me. The outline on the card is drawn on by using the doodling template from Creative Memories. The paper used for the butterfly and the lettering is from Dovecraft Funky Vintage range. For the butterfly I again used the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly and the sentiment is again from Lili of the Valley.
The sentiment stamp and the Birthday Fairy stamp are from Lili of the Valley(there's a surprise) and coloured in using Promarkers.  The paper is from the pink petticoat range that I got free with one of my card magazines(I get so many that I can't remember which one it was with).
I hope you have enjoyed looking at these and if anyone wants to order any to be custom made then please feel free to drop me a line.

I am really enjoying looking at all the other amazing blogs and seeing so many ideas that people come up with.

Moving Home

This is my last time on here today as tonight once the kids are in bed then I will be in the craft room.  Just trying to catch you up with some of my latest creations.
This was one that I kind of created the decoupage effect myself.  I used the Forever Friends For Him paper stack collection and just layered up the bears to get the depth of the bears and what they were doing.  Sometimes it is just nice not to have to colour lots in. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.  It is also a card that I can do away from the craft room when I am staying at mum and dads or somewhere.

Maybe tomorrow there will be more cards to show you but I need to get this order off to South Africa so I will try. I would also like to enter some challenges, so watch this space

Baby Shower

These were the baby shower thank you cards that I did for my friend.  The card was pearlescent from AnneMariedesign.com and I used the free baby carriage from the cuttlebug. The paper was Mon Petit baby shower from a shop that has now closed down.
You must be spoilt because here I am again. I told you I hadn't been busy doing nothing.  One of my good friends had a baby shower end of September and she asked me to make the thank you cards for her.  I made 20 and they were in packs of 10. Unfortunately, they are stuck on the other camera and so I will get them on here as soon as possible.  I also made a mum to be card as baby showers really are becoming popular over here.  Here is one of the cards I made
This was so much fun to make.  The stamp is  'Expecting Nikki' from ladybuginkcrafts.  The other one I did was in blue but that is the one I gave to my friend and the picture is stuck on the camera.  The background card is pink lemonade cardstock from Creative Memories, The circle was cut out using the Creative Memories Cutting system and the letters were done using the sissix Broadway Melody die cuts and that paper is Mon Petit Pregnancy from Provo Craft.  I was so upset to discover on holiday that the place I got it from had closed down.  Why are the craft shops closing? It is so sad.  The image was coloured in using Promarkers.

The Postage Collection

This may seem like a strange title but when you see the pictures, it may make sense why I have called it that.  These are some of the cards that I have made in the hopes of doing a christmas fair.  All of the cards on this part are made using the die cut postage and the embossing folders that came free when I bought the cuttlebug and also by cutting off half of the front of the cards and attaching a piece of patterned paper behind it.  This is why I have called it the postage collection.  Anyway, here they are.

This card used Lili of the Valley round sentiments, the Martha Stewart scalloped dotted edge punch, the paper used is Nana's Nursery baby boy paper stack.  The baby carriage image is made the postage die cut and embossing folder.

This card used Lili of the Valley round sentiments, the Martha Stewart scalloped dotted edge punch, the paper used is Nana's Nursery baby girl paper stack. The baby carriage image is from the cuttlebug postage die cut and embossing set.

This card was made using the Lili of the valley round sentiments, the Martha Stewart cupcake border punch and the paper is from the forever Friends For You paper stack. The cupcake image is made using the cuttlebug postage die-cut and embossing folder.

I'm Back

Wow, I can't believe how long ago I was on here, seems like a lifetime but you will be pleased to know that despite having not updated my blog,  I have not been totally lapse in cardmaking.  I was away from my craft room for almost 2 months but since September I have certainly made up for it.  Well, I got all the wedding Order of Services done and it was such a beautiful day. My sister looked gorgeous and my new brother in law didn't look to bad either.

My youngest sister has gone to South Africa until March so before she went, she asked me to make all her cards.  I made her a lot of cards, and the ones she took with her were personalised for her team.  Bless her, she is almost one of my best customers, scrap that, she is my best customer and she emailed to say that she needed some more.  So that is what I am going to be doing this week.

I am also hoping to be brave and do my first ever christmas fair this year so I am trying to get some stock made so that there are some general cards to sell. If anyone is reading this that has done some fairs, I would really appreciate any advice that you may have.  I have also been doing some work for my Certificate in Papercraft so am really hoping to get that in and hopefully pass it.  Last night I ordered some mini cards(like a business card but smaller) from moo.com. I am so excited as that will be one of my 1st steps to getting BDesigns out there.

I am so sorry to say, that I am having some trouble uploading pictures at this moment to the blog, but all my cards have been added straight to facebook so if you are a friend of mine you will see them but feel free to add me as a friend if you would like to see some.  My oldest daughter has just started nursery and so that gives me a little bit of time in the afternoon to do some cards.

I am really hoping during this week to put some pics on here, so please check it out and I look forward to any feedback I can be given. Sorry for the ramble but from now on there will be pictures and  card making chat.
